    new pendants.

The Chinese philosopher Chuang Tzu awoke from a dream in which he was a butterfly, and wondered if he was a man who dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly now dreaming he was a man? We do not wish to complicate an already very tricky problem, but feel we must suggest a third possibility: that Chuang Tzu was a necklace with a turtle shaped pendant that has a a butterfly painted on it that once thought it was a man who dreamt he was a butterfly. To that end, we offer this necklace, which might be an exact replica of the Chinese philosopher Chuang Tzu.

    one thing leads to another
so the assignment for my typography class was to design a cover, spread, and ad for a Louisville magazine. "Take your own pictures, and if you can, write your own article!" she said. Well, one thing led to another, I haven't worked much on the layout, and I haven't written more than a few words, but i have sunk many hours into this.

"i had a dream the end of the world came roarin' up the river"

    detail:

It's a big image, i printed it out at 19"x13" and it's still just a little bit cramped. Looks really good, though. I'm going to try to submit it to the student show, along with my day of the dead figurines. "What class are these from?" "Typography, can't you tell?"

    more other stuff
    other recent creative efforts:

I shrunk the bear and made a frame so i can make multiples:

The one on the left is dual-sided- the other side of it looks like the one on the right. It's down to a wearable size.

and a couple other new wire figures:

    weighed down

not sure what to call this one yet.

and i made a new stencil:

this is about... 16 inches tall? i've got ideas to do some drawing compositions and whatnot with it.

and for typography, we had to make tags and bags for some products. i approached it a little more... creatively?

and... i designed some pirate flag things.

    and... a new planter style

    pendantry
and I've been making some pendants. Like for necklaces! Craftsmanship details are still being worked out. I scanned them to get these images, so there is some crazy focus things going on, but i like that so you will too.

What's this? There are more?!?! )

    crazy time
At fightin' class a while back we were discussing shirt ideas. Someone jokingly suggested just a big picture of Crazy Eddie (a guy in the class) smiling. Haha, but then I thought, shoot, I'd wear that. And I'd seen a tutorial on a bleach stenciling process that looking fun and relatively straightforward. So off I went.

Drawing. It was a little tricky to simplify to two tones and ensure that it would stay in one piece as a stencil.

Stencil. Used a hot plastic cutter to cut it out, was really easy to use. The tutorial suggested a repositional spray adhesive, so I tried that, but it sprayed gunky and not so effective.

    Shirt. Sort of messy.

It turned out... okay? This was probably overly ambitious for the first thing to try with a process. I have no idea if anyone in the class will be able to tell who it is.
